What is sodium chlorite?
The sodium chlorite is a chemical compound widely used for the water purification and disinfection for human or animal consumption.
Sodium chlorite is obtained from sodium chlorate (NaClO3). Sodium chlorite in contact with a specific acidic solution produces chlorine dioxide which is the biocidal agent suitable for the best chemical water purification treatment.
It is a compound used in many different situations. The drinking water supply is one of its main applications. For this purpose, chlorine dioxide is generated from sodium chlorite and is applied to the water to be treated.
Properties of sodium chlorite
It is the safer chemical for the treatment of drinking water, since, unlike other chemicals, sodium chlorite is not suitable for does not generate trihalomethanes (toxic complexes) in contact with organic matter.
Prolonged disinfection if used without activator.
Lowest sodium chlorite on the market in nitrates, chlorates and other residues.

Sodium chlorite: uses and applications
To generate chlorine dioxide, sodium chlorite has to be mixed with environments or other components. acids, to take full advantage of its cleansing and purifying properties.
Unless the water to be treated has a pH of less than 5, sodium chlorite should not be used alone and should always be activated with a Dioxvitae activator HCL.
It is used one drop of sodium chlorite for every drop of activator. The mixture should be poured into the water to be treated. Two drops of sodium chlorite should be applied per liter of water.
Sodium chlorite should be mixed with an activator before use to reduce the initial solution so that it can be safely applied to the water to be treated.
The generation in situ of chlorine dioxide from sodium chlorite mixed with the activator HCL is the most frequently used technique to activate it for later use. This is a very quick and easy technique with which to obtain your ready-to-use chlorine dioxide.
The sodium chlorite will be mixed with the activator and, upon contact with water, will generate chlorine dioxide and a little residual common salt, which can be safely used for water purification.
In any case, we recommend that you seek the help of a specialist if you do not know how to to use sodium chlorite with all guarantees and total security. The activation process must be carried out correctly in order to use it safely.
Contraindications when buying sodium chlorite
Sodium chlorite should only be used safely.
Read carefully the product label and safety data sheet before use.
