What is DMSO?
The dimethyl sulfoxide, more commonly known as DMSO, is a colorless organic liquid that comes from wood pulp.
It is a universal solvent which can be used together with a large number of substances and in many different situations.
How is DMSO used?
DMSO is mixed with other chemicals, such as chlorine dioxide, to increase the efficiency of potabilization where water quality is very poor, since facilitates the penetration of the chlorine dioxide in the biofilm in tanks and pipes, thus allowing it to degrade and achieve optimal results.
Combined with the water treatment kit, mix 2 units of DMSO for each unit of sodium chlorite. Combined with CDS, mix 1 unit of DMSO for every 5 units of CDS.
The freezing point of pure DMSO is at +18ªC. If this happens, wait leaving the container at a temperature above +18ºC and if it is urgent, immerse the closed container in warm water for 20 minutes so that it returns to its liquid state. Then store the product indoors, where the temperature is always higher than +18ºC. Freezing and thawing does not alter the properties of the product at all.
It is recommended to keep the product in its original packaging.
Contraindications of DMSO
Because it is a great solvent and due to its penetrating power, it is necessary to use DMSO with caution.
Read the safety data sheet and the label that you will find on the package before use.
